It is an itinerant event, changing location every year with the aim of travelling all the Mediterranean region and offering businessmen from different Countries the opportunity to know each other and discuss about business cooperation. The 1st edition was held in Slovenia (Koper), the 2nd one in Egypt (Alexandria), the 3rd edition in Rome (Italy) in May 2010, the 4th in Tunis in 2011, the 5th in Granada (Spain) in 2012.
The Green Med Forum covers three days, starting with a Gala Dinner with the presentation of the Green Med Awards (Day 1). On Day 2 the main Conference takes place, made lively through discussion panels, followed by Business to Business (B2B) meetings among the companies registered at the event. Finally in the morning of Day 3 technical visits to local companies and farms are organized.
Besides the Plenary Sesison, the conference usually consists of two break-out sessions on different topics: last year the main topic was the trade relations with Eastern Europe and Russia, along with fresh produce transport, which has been since the first edition a major topic of discussion, wholesale markets and distribution and promotion of typical and quality products.
Participants include producers and exporters, traders and distributors as well as crucial service providers like logistics operators, certification bodies, technology and packaging manufactures.
The discussion panels and the B2B meetings in particular provide effectiveness to the event, along with the exhibition area which is arranged every year in the location we've chosen.
