Next year the spotlight will be on
Italy, a major player in the Mediterranean fruit and vegetable sector. Some key figures: - 3.4 million tonnes of fruit and vegetables exported with a total value of 2.9 billion euros (apples, table grapes, kiwi fruit, peaches and nectarines, citrus fruit, carrots, lettuces, potatoes and tomatoes). - 2.8 million tonnes of fruit and vegetables imported worth a total of 1.9 billion euros.
The protagonist as product will be
tomato, one of the most segmented products in the fruit and vegetable sector.
Another new feature is the
presentations relayed via a TV stage set. Various topics will be presented and relayed to the fair:
• The Euro-Mediterranean organic sector
• Fruit and vegetable transport and logistics
• Distribution channels
• Products and consumption
• The European crop forecasts (peach, nectarine, melon and apricot).
