The Nadorcott seedless tangerine is a special variety discovered in Morocco in 1982 in the INRA collections (Institut national de la recherche agronomique), then subsequently selected and planted by the Agricultural Estates in 1990. It is remarkable for the following qualities:
• aspect (absence of fruits «soufflés»);
• taste (very fragrant fruits);
• naturally productive trees;
• late developing production but spread out schedule from January to May.

Isolation enables to respect the self sterility feature of Nadorcott: actually, in the production areas, no other citrus fruit is planted on a minimum diameter of 5 kilometres. In Morocco there are 5 isolated production sites (soils).

Production schedule goes from January to end of April, while marketing schedule runs from mid January to mid May. The packaging stations in Morocco approved for packaging Nadorcott are certified ISO 9001 version 2000 and satisfy the quality management standards (standard HACCP).

Western Europe is one of the main markets, especially: France, Great Britain, Netherlands, Germany, Italy. Other important markets now and in strong development expected in the years to come are Scandinavia Russia and Eastern Europe, Canada, Unite States and the Middle East (United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia). A growth in exports is expected in the 2011/2012 season, reaching 45,000 tons compared to 38,600 last year.

The association of Nadorcott producers in Morocco (APNM), founded in 2007, was set up to form into a federation and represent the interests of Nadorcott producers and exporters in Morocco. Its stand at Fruit Logistica is in Hall 1.1 / A-02.
