PUGLIA GOES INTERNATIONAL, FOREIGN OPERATORS IN VISIT
International trade operators and journalists are visiting Southern Italian region of Puglia on 8-11 Oct. during a workshop organised by ICE aimed at the promotion of typical local crops such as table grapes and artichokes.

The event, which counts on the collaboration of the Region of Puglia/Policies for Rural Development, include the participation of about twenty-five traders, analysts and trade journalists from Romania, Denmark, Czech Republic, Germany, Finland, Ukraine, United Kingdom, Norway, France, UAE, Poland, selected by local Italian Foreign Trade Institute (ICE) offices.

Visits to companies are planned, as well as B2B meetings, and a conference on Thursday 8 afternoon, during which delegates have been provided with all necessary information, both technical and scientific.

Thanks to fauvorable climatic and geographical conditions, the region can offer premium products, being leader in Italy for table grapes (70% chare) and artichokes (33%) productions.

The event takes place along with the international Forum “Table Grapes: Challenges and Opportunities”, which is being held during biannual specializing agricultural exhibition Agrilevante (Fiera del Levante, Hall 9).

Research innovations have been presented, supporting the table grapes' supply chain and developed by both public and private bodies, as well as connected issues concerning marketing and the needs of international markets, logistics, credit, establishment of companies abroad etc.

The Forum attendees include representatives of table grapes producing countries, large retailers, international buyers, professionals in the table grapes' supply chain, import-export companies, researchers from Italian and international institutes, representatives of private companies.
