FRANCE, LOCAL PRODUCE MORE EXPENSIVE THAN IMPORTS
In French fruit and vegetable markets, the price of tomatoes and peaches grown locally is higher than that of imported products.

A recent study of the French consumers organization CLCV shows that local tomatoes cost 17% more than imported tomatoes. While for peaches, price increase even reached 11% compared to imported produce, Freshplaza.it reports.

It is also worth mentioning that, despite the climatic conditions in the country allow an extended production of fruit and vegetables, 21% of all melons supplies and 14% of tomatoes come from imports.
