TUNISIA, GOOD CITRUS EXPORTS' PERFORMANCE
Tunisia exported 7,453 tonnes of citrus fruits between the start of January and February 2, mainly to France which is the main customer Country importing 84% of Maltese oranges.

The export potential of Tunisia citrus fruit sector is estimated at 25,000 tonnes, 23,000 of which arehighly-valued Maltese oranges, ANSAmed newsagency reports.
 
Besides France, the remainder 16% of Maltese oranges go to several markets, including Libya.
 
Tunisia has activated a series of programmes over the last decade aimed at developing its agricultural production. In particular plantations of Maltese oranges have increased considerably, from 40 to 60,000 new plants every year.
