The agribusiness industry in Tunisia is experiencing a real dynamic growth, being among the leading industrial activities in the country in matters of investment with a 25% increase since 2004, i.e. 23% of the total amounts invested in manufacturing sectors, African Manager reported.

The industry's exports reached 1,849.5 million dinars in 2009, accounting for 9.5% of the country's total exports.

Italy is Tunisia's first customer in food products (42% of the volume of exports) followed by Spain (14%) and France (13%).

The agribusiness sector has 1098 industrial companies employing 10 or more persons. Among these companies, 176 are totally exporting ones.
